Things to Do on Medano Beach, Cabo San Lucas

Playa El Médano — Medano Beach — is the heart of Cabo San Lucas: two miles of golden sand on the calm, swimmable side of the bay, looking straight out at Land's End and the famous Arch. It's where the city comes to swim, eat, drink, and party, and it's the one beach you shouldn't miss. Here's how to make a full day of it.
1. Claim a spot at a beach club
Only a handful of venues sit directly on the sand, and they're the best base for the day — shade, service, and cold drinks without leaving your seat. Mango Deck has been the loudest, friendliest one for over two decades, with daybeds, beachfront tables, and an all-day 2-for-1 happy hour.
2. Eat with your feet in the sand
Start with breakfast on the beach — chilaquiles, eggs, and strong coffee — then graze through the day on loaded nachos, fresh ceviche, fish tacos, and ice-cold beer buckets. A beachfront table is a rare thing in Cabo; most restaurants look at a street, not the bay.
3. Catch the live show
By afternoon the stage kicks off: live music, beer-drinking contests, dancers, and rope tricks that pull the whole beach in. It's the reason people come once and keep coming back. Grab a front-row table if you want to be in the middle of it.
4. Take a water taxi to the Arch
Medano is the launch point for the classic Cabo excursion — a short panga ride out to Lover's Beach, the sea lion colony, and El Arco where the Sea of Cortez meets the Pacific. Boats leave right from the sand; negotiate the round trip before you hop on.
5. Stay for sunset
As the sun drops behind the Pacific, the whole beach turns to face the water. Order a margarita, watch the sky light up over Land's End, and let the day roll into the night party.
