Water Taxi to the Arch from Medano Beach

Water Taxi to the Arch from Medano Beach

One of the best things about basing your day on Medano Beach is that Cabo's most famous sight is a short boat ride away. You can hop a water taxi straight off the sand and be at El Arco — the Arch at Land's End — in minutes. Here's exactly how it works.

What is a water taxi in Cabo?

Water taxis are small open boats (locals call them pangas) that leave right from the beach — no marina, no terminal. They run all day from the sand in front of the Medano beach clubs, including right out front of Mango Deck. Many are glass-bottom, so you'll spot fish on the way out.

Where they go

  • El Arco (the Arch) — Cabo's iconic rock formation at Land's End
  • Neptune's Finger and the sea-lion colony
  • Lover's Beach (Playa del Amor) — get dropped off and picked up later
  • A close-up pass of where the Sea of Cortez meets the Pacific

How much does it cost?

Fares are cash and negotiable, so agree the price before you step in. As a rough guide, expect around $12 USD one-way per person, or about $25 round-trip — a little more if you want a longer tour or a private boat. Always confirm whether it's per person or per boat, and lock in your round-trip pickup so you're not stranded at Lover's Beach.

How long does it take?

It's about a 30–45 minute cruise to take in the Arch and the rock formations, or you can be dropped at Lover's Beach and picked up whenever you like. Mornings are calmer and better for photos; the water gets busier and choppier by mid-afternoon.

Good to know before you go

  • Bring cash in small bills and agree the fare + round-trip time before boarding
  • You cannot take a jet ski to the Arch — the area is protected, so a water taxi is the way
  • At Lover's Beach, swim only on the calm bay side — never the rough Pacific (Divorce Beach) side
  • Bring water, sunscreen and water shoes; there are no services on Lover's Beach
  • The Arch itself is a photo stop — you can't usually walk on it

Make a day of it

The easy move: base yourself on the sand at Mango Deck, take the water taxi out to the Arch in the morning, then come back to your table for lunch, drinks, and the afternoon show. Your spot's waiting and your tab's already sorted.
